Elizabeth Thomson 25 Feb - 4 April 2012 — Saturday 25 Feb 2012

Location: RH Gallery @ Woollaston
Cost: Free admission

Elizabeth Thomson creates exquisitely crafted works which orchestrate the area between two and three dimensions, and the boundaries of art and science. Using her known repertoire of zinc pohutukawa leaves, scientific glass, glass beading and resin she takes on the guise of botanist, mathematician or a space traveller. Familiar matter is lifted from the ordinary, becoming optically elusive and transending usual references. Her trajectory can embrace everything from the extraordinary, weightless panels, or giant vistas with impressive scale and swooping perspective, or views with reflections and glacing light.
