Sorry, this wine is sold out. WOOLLASTON WOOLLASTON PINOT NOIR 2005
Aromas of dark plum and black cherry combine with subtle barrel char, and spice to give a complex nose. A generous core of concentrated black cherry and plum fruit marry with fine grained tannins to give an elegant minerality that lingers in the mouth. Technical InformationWINEMAKING NOTES PH 3.9 VITICULTURE Awards & ReviewsSue Courtenay, Wine of the Week, Nov 06 Grown on the clay bound gravels of upper Moutere, this is a powerful pinot noir, deep in colour, smooth in texture and fulfilling to the taste. It's toasty, spicy and just a little earthy, the ripe black plum and juicy black cherry fruit is juicy and the finish rich and savoury. $35. My rating: 4.5 stars. Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sept 07 Grapes were grown in the Upper Moutere in the Nelson region. A gently perfumed nose displaying red berries with hints of dried herbs and savoury flavours. It’s juicy and silky smooth on the palate with balanced acidity and soft tannins. A pleasant drinking Pinot. At its best: now to end of 2008. $35.00 4 stars, 86 points. Peter Saunders “A guide to NZ wine 2007” Well fruited and nicely textured, a sound, medium-bodied Pinot Noir doing everything right to show best late 2007. Dominion Post, Warren Barton, Dec 9th 2006 The 2005 Pinot Noir is a strongly varietal, attractively scented wine, not as oaky as its predecessor with plenty of dark red fruit on the nose and palate.
